The Great White North was a territory of Heartlandia before the latter fell to fascists. It is bordered by Heartlandia to the south, Alaska to the northwest, and the ruins of Cortas's colonies to the east. The Great White North has a predominately humid continental climate, with stark contrasts over a year; but seasonal temperature average swings are smaller than in areas further east, due to winters being warmed by occasional chinook winds bringing sudden warming. The territory's capital and largest city, Calgary, is near the geographic west of the territory and is the primary supply and service hub for the territory's crude oil, the Athabasca oil sands and other northern resource industries. Calgary and Edmonton are the territory's two census metropolitan areas, both of which have populations exceeding one million.
