RE: Your Politics
Well, the political compass questions aren't the best. Whilst I don't agree with a lot of the policy of the Soviet Union under Stalin's leadership of the CPSU, I do subscribe to the theory of the aggravation of class struggle under socialism. Because I'm a scientific socialist and view history (and the future) in terms of class struggle, I realise that the historical phase of socialism leading up to communism is an important one. Under socialism, the proletariat must consolidate power (both in the political and economic spheres, which are intertwined) and this means repression and bloodshed. I know this is all very ends-to-justify-means, but Marx wrote that should the bourgeoisie hand over political and economic power then all would be fine. Unfortunately, that is highly unlikely to happen, so when people call me Stalinist it's because I'm happy for (come the revolution) the forcible detention and even killing of those who oppose the process. A peaceful revolution is almost impossible, a revolution through voting is impossible: "the working class cannot simply lay hold of ready-made state machinery, and wield it for its own purposes" (Communist Manifesto).
I bet that makes no sense.

RE: Your Politics
No, it makes perfect sense, but I would counter that violent revolution is equally as unsuccessful because it establishes the kind of governments that you don't want, or at least a very good platform, for those kinds of people to advance. I think that while you may at least enstate a government through violent revolution that "says" they will start on the road to communism, it always ends up as a kind of facio-state capitalist system, similar to fuedal times, where the serfs slave away for the benefit of their political leaders who they now have absolutely zero control over. The government during the "Dictatorship of the Proletariat" stage the government will only have to excert that extreme political and social control over the people if they are unwilling-the economic control can survive without. It's a vicious cycle, the more unwilling the people are, the more social controls are needed and that makes people more unwilling which = more socio-political controls. I think the only way for us to establish successful, lasting and true communist rule is by 100% peaceful and democratic means. We have to be patient and wait for the fall of capitalism. As I said there's actually not a hell of a lot that I agree with Marx 100% on. I'm a Neo-Communist. Oh, and while I would say that the Political Compass map is the most accurate out there, it doesn't realise that the communist political landscape is just as broad as the capitalist.
Ntena "Outside of this game, I am member of a Pirate Party. No idea how that translates into twencen terms." lol! I'd like to see what that party would have stood for pre-internet!

RE: Your Politics
I see myself as an anarchist - and I know there are tons of different specific forms of anarchy, so I guess my ideology is a mix of anarcho-collectivism with the smallest bit of anarcho-primitivism (i.e. I think humans should 'rewild' their lives while also incorporating technology). I feel kinda pretentious saying that, eheh, but yeah.
Potuss, that quote in your signature is really familiar but I can't remember who said it. It's driving me crazy.
