RE: Which country?
I'm an Australian, and I do love it here. I'm for free markets, free society and minimal government. Australia is quite suitable for my preferred lifestyle.
...say the Netherlands...far to close to the Neo-Nazi Anti-Semitic State of Norway.
Hi, Rowan,
in principle, I must agree to arcanus. (forgot the bullshit nonsense!)
do you have some concrete reasons/facts for this negative assumption regarding Norway?
As we know here in europe, Norway is one of the most liberal and humanistic states, as all scandinavian states.
Maybe they stand up a little bit articulate for the palestines people, but hence - antisemit and neo-nazi?
Angesichts dieser Nacht voller Zeichen und Sterne wurde ich zum ersten Mal empfänglich für die zärtliche Gleichgültigkeit der Welt. (...by embracing the "gentle indifference of the world")

RE: Which country?
To be frank, I really don't wanna get into an argument over Norway's anti-Zionist approach to international diplomacy.
If I did, I'd dig up that article. All I know is Norway recognizes Palestine's claim to what is modern day Israel, doesn't recognize the State of Israel but classifies it's government as a terrorist organization.
I'm sure the Jews of Norway, in fact, most of western Europe do not feel they live in an anti-Semitic country, but I'd like to see Jewish Norwegian's reactions to their country's stance on Israel.
Of course, it may have changed by now, it was back in 06 when I saw the article. I thought it may have being more well known in Europe. Oh, by the way, this is the 21st century. The internet knows no borders. I can and do understand European culture and politics. From what Norway's being offering, I don't like it. As was mentioned before, the UN hates Israel. I don't find it surprising that Norway now flies the UN flag next to their own on their national holiday.

RE: Which country?
I'm not sure why being anti-Israel is supposed to mean that a country is anti-Semitic. It's like saying that being anti-Tsarist means being anti-Russian, or being against the Third Reich means being anti-German. And Neo-Nazi? Come on. Besides, you make it seem like it's synonymous with anti-Semitism, which is strange.
I'd choose Israel over Palestine though. I suspect that Norway behaves the way it does simply to appease its numerous Muslim immigrants.

RE: Which country?
Anti-Semitic foreign policy, definitely. As I said, that's what's happening to Europe. Muslim immigrants are having far too much influence on foreign and increasingly, domestic policy.
I do know that Holocaust history units are being removed from public schools in Britain, in case a child of Muslim parents has being infected by their bigotry, comes home and says something about the Holocaust as it was taught to them at school which is contrary to his parents anti-Semtic Holocaust denying views.
All this may not be directly attacking Jews, but I don't like the way it's going at all. It's a dangerous path and Europe must wake up and show some backbone.

RE: Which country?
I think it's a bit sad that Europeans (and their American brethren) have grown so feeble ideologically that they should side either with the Muslims or the Jews to have at least some credibility. I would have preferred it if Muslim immigration to Europe was limited to the point of being negative, and if European and American Jews showed their nationalism in a more direct, honest manner and moved to Israel instead of occupying a disproportional amount of important posts and (somewhat surprisingly) often being inappropriately soft on Muslim immigrants in Europe.
Afterwards, when it is not pressured by the Muslim "minorities" anymore, Europe could perhaps join the US in its support of Israel, because it's the best way to destabilize the situation in the Middle East and turn it into something more easily exploitable, along the lines of Africa. In other words, support Israel because it would actually be profitable for them, as opposed to being manipulated into doing that by numerous prominent Jewish politicians and journalists. Unfortunately, all of that sounds like a fairy tale, and Europe will most likely be overrun by Muslims in a couple of decades.
