Tasks

Why can I not see the whole description of the task without it COUNTING as having been acted upon? I thought I would LOOK at the problem of prostitution and decided NOT to act and deciding NOT to act took my turn! Preposterous! As someone who has used the internet for a while and not learned programming, I believe you can make HOW to play the game much easier for the novice to understand quickly - that is, IF you want a lot of people playing the game. Additionally, why does it take an entire day to complete a turn? My guess is that this will greatly limit the number of players who remain interested.

RE: Tasks

That's the concept! You have to guess what a task is about. You can't know it all before. And you have to do all tasks after all. It's just your decision, When to do them. So, ceep cool!Cool
I find it very good, that you only have a quarter year per day, so you don't have to spend several hours every day to have a chance to get some highscores. Some minutes is enough.

RE: Tasks

I understand the concept. I just don't think it's the way it really works in real life. (Or should work in the game.) A political leader looks at his options and then decides what action he's going to take. To penalize a player for merely looking at his options will reduce the number of players who play in the long run. Now, it may well be that you get as many players playing that will satisfy your needs or help you achieve the goals for the site, but you can bet that others will come along and "build a better mousetrap" and players will migrate to the games that are MORE player-friendly or player-responsive and that site will be more popular - perhaps wildly so. Again, perhaps popularity is not your goal. I'm just assuming that it is.

Have an excellent day. bigsmile

RE: Tasks

I realize that you might simply view this as my point of view, but your response makes it seem as if you view it as choosing between yellow or green.

I see it as between more freedom or less freedom on the part of the player. I view this as a more important choice than between this or that.

My guess is that most players will choose the more freedom. I definitely could be wrong.

Sincerely attempting to communicate,

RE: Tasks

No no, I think I understand, what you mean. But I find some attraction in not knowing what you will chose before too.

So TO ME it makes no difference, but I share your opinion, that more players will leave the game because of this than would leave the other way around.
So if I was the programmer I would change it just to please you. Big Grin But as I am not...Noplan

Sorry, I can't help you. Only Malone and Comfreak can decide on this.

RE: Tasks

Hey guys Tongue

@topic: Well, I think most of us like the game 'cause you do not need much time a day. For the atmosphere of such a knowledge-depending game, it is totally right imho. Seeing what you will face when doing an issue ... well, if malone/comfreak would make it like this, we would notice what beeble wanted to say: it is more attractive not to know! The other thing is, that you just have to make a decision for this issue. Often, the task you would leave to do comes up with high priority next quarter, so what would you win? ^^

But I realize the problem you want us to tell. Maybe the whole system just keeps a number of players outside the game, because your freedom is small. But I think, you can't fix it just with the option to check the issue before making your decision ...

Greetings
BigBob
