Clinton actually accepted Coulter's support (albeit mildly):

But that's not even what I'm driving at. What is key is that a radical conservative views Obama and Clinton as more conservative than the Republican. It shows me that McCain is a true moderate and one who will break apart the old Bush regime mentality. Clinton and Obama can't or won't do that and radical conservatives know it.

I thought this election would be a golden opportunity for democrats to really punish Republicans for the last 8 years of hell, but then again, I thought that 4 years ago too. Democrats screwed it up in 2004 and will do it again in 2008. I could hardly imagine worse candidates than Obama and Clinton. A racist and a radical. Great, just what we need. Rolleyes Frown

What we desperately need is a compromise candidate like Al Gore. In fact, many Democrats are calling on him to step in and save the Democratic Party.

From an article I just read:

"Earlier this week, Democratic Rep. Tim Mahoney of Florida suggested Gore, the party’s 2000 presidential nominee, could assume the role of a compromise candidate if neither Hillary Clinton nor Barack Obama could broker a deal. If it goes into the convention, don’t be surprised if someone different is at the top of the ticket,” he told a Florida newspaper, adding Gore could be that choice.

Al Gore is a good strong moderate and he's already won a presidential election! Jaja I think he's the Democrats only hope now.

Nope. It's not! Most analysts are saying the US is plunging into a recession and maybe even a depression is on the way. I've already seen lots of people struggling.

But for many, it's their own fault. You buy a house for $600,000, have an adjustable rate mortgage that climbs to $5,000 a month, cry about it, and then demand that the government bails you out. Vangry Our economy is purely driven by INCREASING consumption such as wanting more, bigger, and better everything. If you slow down how much we consume, the economy will crash down. This was always inevitable, it just needed the right set of circumstances like an expensive war, high oil cost, crashing housing market, and no planning.

I don't think McCain, Obama, or Clinton has any idea what to do about it. Other than the usual tell everyone it's all ok even if it's not. If you have a job hold on tight to it for the next few years. Erstaunt

RE: Obama or McCain?

there is really a simple solution to it.

both parties should agree to let chuck (the guy who used to run infoshop.org) be their presidential candidate.

with a firm national unity behind him, i'm sure he would know what to do about the economic crisis Smile

They all have a "plan" Clinton wants to kill intrest rates on home loans for the next 5 years (which will mostly make it worse.) McCain is a little clone of Bush. Obama wants to go to a more logical point of tax cuts on the middle class. He also is smart enough to not go into the red to bail us out, like Clinton.

Lowering interest rates would actually help the economy by reducing adjustable rate mortgages and allowing those in fixed mortgages to refinance at more favorable terms, not to mention lower everyone's credit card bills. High interest rates only serve to cool down an overheating economy (and make credit corporations very wealthy), but our last increase improperly equated rising home values with rising earnings, which we did not have.

Obama does not have a plan for economic growth and stability. While I agree with lowering taxes (Washington can’t waste what it doesn’t have), his stance of dramatically increasing government spending coupled with lowering taxes is a recipe for disaster. In fact, Obama’s economic plan is nearly identical to Bush’s. He even includes rebate stimulus checks, just like Bush! Again, I’m happy to retrieve my taxes from the government, but it does nothing to get us out of the red.

And lastly, McCain is not a clone of Bush. Do you remember 2000? Those two hate each other down to the last hair on their heads. While I don’t like everything about McCain, one thing I’m happy about is that he is not a neocon Bush crony. I just love seeing Bush’s unhappy face these days as he knows no matter who is elected, his legacy will end miserably on January 20th.

While I don’t like everything about McCain,

At least we agree on something!
